Thai massage is traditionally taught by the Buddhist monks in the Wat Po Temple in Bangkok. Thai massage is traditionally done fully-clothed on the floor (I have adapted some strokes to the table.). Passive motion of hip, shoulder, wrist, elbow, knee joints relaxes not only the muscles but also the adjacent tendons and ligaments. 80-90% of fibers get relaxed compared to 50% in a normal massage. Yoga-like positions passive to the receiver are achieved.

My favorite massage training was Advanced Esalen Massage, at Esalen Institute, Big Sur, California where East met West in the '60's. I use it's long, flowing, integrating strokes in every massage I do. This seamless massage garment coaxes the body into relaxation and wholeness.

You select from a menu of options: massage, foot massage, head/neck/upperback massage, nails,facials, food, hot tub, music/movie, games, social time. More relaxing than a trip to the Bahamas.

BASIC MASSAGE	New clients fill out an intake form. I assess how they use their body at work (computing, building decks, gardening, driving) and at play (swimming, dancing, yoga). Feedback is encouraged during the massage. During the massage, I "listen" to the body; the body will tell me how to relax it. With YOU on the table, I become a sensorimotor educator.
ASHIATSU	One of the newest trends in bodywork is Ashiatsu www.deepfeet.com. Amazing depth and specificity. "Ashi" is especially indicated for those who have well-developed musculature and/or like deep pressure. (Ask for our next wine & cheese & demonstration where each individual gets a free Ashiatsu sample.)

FAMILY MASSAGE	Family ties can be strengthened through family massage. Specific lifelong skills are taught. Upon completion, each participant is provided with a Family Massage Picture & Stroke Card with log to record massaging each familymember, as well as 3 gift certificates. (POSSIBLE TOPICS: Anatomy, Evolution, Most Profound Touch Experience, Blind Sculptor.) 'Family' refers to any group of people who care about each other.

We are capable of opening up, removing our defenses/armoring, making ourselves vulnerable, accessing 'core energies' Furthermore, Couples Massage can offer you skills that can support any relationship you will ever have.
